Native Cubans and masters of the guitar, this duo brings together two internationally heralded stars. Mr. Izquierdo is hailed by Classical Guitar Magazine for his “virtuoso technique, dazzling speed, and beautiful tonal control.” Edel Muñoz is a first-prize winner in 18 international guitar competitions and many other top prizes around the world. As soloists on our program, Izquierdo and Munoz will perform master works of Scarlatti, Debussy, Bach, Aguado and more. Cuban classical and popular music will follow in the second half when these virtuosi take the stage as a duo. Prepare to be swept away by the island's rhythms and forms.
